Whether you can spare an hour a month or a morning a week, there is a ministry that would be grateful for your help. Every volunteer at St Joseph's is supported by our parish safeguarding process.
Proclaim the Word of God at one of our weekend Masses. Training and a printed roster provided; a lovely way to grow in Scripture.
Assist with the distribution of Holy Communion at Mass and, if you wish, bring the Eucharist to the sick and housebound during the week.
Prepare the sanctuary before Mass and tidy afterwards. A quiet, prayerful ministry perfect for early risers.
Sing at the 10:30am Sunday Mass. We rehearse Thursday evenings, 7:30–9:00pm. New voices always needed.
Lead a simple word-of-God session for children during the 9:00am Sunday Mass, on a small roster. Working with Children Check required.
Join our conference doing home visits, sorting donations and delivering food vouchers. Meets Wednesday evenings.
Set up craft, pour tea and welcome families on Tuesday or Friday mornings. WWCC required.
A cheerful crew keeps the grounds tidy on the first Saturday of each month, 8:00–10:00am. BYO gloves.
Visit parishioners in aged care or hospital. Full training provided by CatholicCare's Pastoral Care Volunteer Program.
St Joseph's parish follows the Archdiocese of Melbourne's Safeguarding Standards. All volunteers who engage with children or vulnerable adults hold a current Working with Children Check and complete an induction. To raise a safeguarding concern, contact the Archdiocese Safeguarding Unit on 03 9326 9300 or email safeguarding@cam.org.au.
Send us a note. Fr. Anthony or our parish coordinator will be in touch within 2 business days.
